CONSERVATION
Stewart Associates are committed to the conservation and repair of the historic environment, using proven conservation techniques and philosophy to protect and enhance the particular character of a building or place. We have considerable experience in the conservation, restoration and re-use of traditional and historic buildings including churches, country houses, farm steadings and tenements.
All alterations to historic fabric are carefully considered, taking into account the need for minimal intervention and reversibility. Where appropriate, modern interventions are handled sympathetically, through well considered design and attention to detail. Our approach is underpinned by a thorough understanding of traditional building materials and methods of construction.
